Approval of Minutes from June Meeting
Discussion: A motion to approve the June minutes was made by G. Bolan and seconded by M. Guido. The Minutes from June meeting were unanimously approved.

Committee Membership
Discussion: The need for expanding the membership of the Neighborhood Watch Committee was discussed. It was agreed that more members should be on the committee and that only one CHOA Board member should ultimately be on the Neighborhood Watch Committee to serve as a liaison between the Neighborhood Watch Group and the Crestlake Board of Directors. Art Rapp was nominated to be on the NW Committee but declined the appointment.

Block Captain Recruitment
Discussion: Joe Guetzloff is continuing to look for a Block Captain for Area 18 or 19.

Meeting Announcements
Discussion: Meeting attendance was increased at this meeting by 100% over past meetings. It appears that that meeting announcement plan with reminders and phone tree has been effective and should be continued.
Action items: Continue staggered announcement plan and phone tree

Meeting Format
Deferred to future meetings

Child Safety Program
Discussion: The Child Safety program was scheduled for Sunday, September 13, 2009. The initial plan  includes Child ID kits for children, an information table, a K-9 demonstration, rides for children on a fire truck, a Punt, Pass & Kick activity and possibly hot dogs. The possibility of a scratch game was suggested. Task responsibilities were assigned to determine if these activities are feasible.
Action items: Get information as assigned and report to group about progress.

Neighborhood Watch Social Activities
Discussion: Art and Chona Rapp and Scott Weiler held a barbeque/potluck for the residents of Area 4, other Block Captains and members of the Crestlake Board of Directors. There was a very good turn out for his barbeque, including many families and three members of the CHOA Board. The burgers, side dishes and desserts were all wonderful. The families enjoyed having an opportunity to chat with their neighbors and the children thoroughly enjoyed playing in the Rapp’s pool. Art, Chona and Scott are to be highly commended for their efforts and their ability to act as torchbearer for the Neighborhood Watch program.
Activities suggested for the future, Crestlake area garage sale in June with Lemonade stand. Corvette show, tailgating.
Action items: None
